By land, air and sea; New York City in photography.

There are many additional shots that will be added to this collection of images that depict New York City in photography. Not long after the New York City Department of Records had released the Municipal Archives Online Gallery, I became eager to revisit a rather extensive collection of New York photography of my own, images I collected at various times when I lived and worked there. To the artist’s eye, there are many New Yorks: its ethnic communities, its music scenes, its nightlife. My most recent attempts to capture New York City in photography have focused on its more disembodied elements: its architecture, bridges and infrastructure. As I upload other images you will see the other New Yorks I know: the crazy romantics, the street people, the politicians.

“The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding.”
