The challenges and rewards of photographing creatures in flight.
When I bought my first camera years ago, all that I wanted to do was to capture anything in flight. There was something about being able to freeze that moment of flight that stuck with me. The challenge of keeping your shutter speed up, trying to maintain a decent composition, incorporating a shallow depth of field when possible and somehow frame an acceptable background within the photograph all in the matter of a fraction of a second. It’s not really honest to take a shot like that and say that I did it when I know that whatever happened in that moment was pure chance and all that I did was pull together enough of my experience and intuition to make that chance a little more pleasing to the eye. I will be adding more photographs to this particular theme soon.
